One of the nickel mining companies operating in the Mandiodo Block, Molawe District, North Konawe Regency (Konut), PT. Bumi Konawe Minerina (BKM), is again repairing the connecting road infrastructure between Tapunggaya Village and Molawe Subdistrict for 5 days from May 13-18, 2024, as a form of the company’s concern for the community around the mining area.

They have deployed two heavy equipment units, consisting of one Komatsu PC 210 Excavator, one Compactor unit, and two 10-wheel Dump Trucks to level and spread mountain stones in the slippery and difficult-to-pass areas.

With a good relationship and coordination concept between the company, the Village Government, and community leaders, PT. Bumi Konawe Minerina provided assistance with equipment/units such as Dump Trucks and Compactors. The community contributed an Excavator and quarry stones for road lamination. Technically, this activity is supervised by both the village and the company.

“This road repair is a shared concern between the community, village officials, and PT. BKM, considering the road conditions during the rainy season for the safety of road users. This collaboration needs to be enhanced in the future,” he added.

PT. BKM also assists the residents, not only focusing on road infrastructure but also providing aid to several mosque facilities and other public facilities.

With this road repair, it is hoped that community activities will run smoothly, ultimately increasing the economy and welfare of the residents of Tapunggaya and Tapuemea Villages.
